Dear Reader,

Welcome to the Anahat Newsletter!

Over the past 20 years, we have been frequently asked what Anahat means. Our inspiration for this name comes from the fourth energy centre in the yogic tradition, Anahat, the heart chakra - “the sound that is made without any two things striking”. This has inspired us to seek the magic of the inclusive ‘and’ to offer insights and solutions to our clients by synthesizing diverse traditions.

This year we draw energy from the element associated with the Anahat Chakra – Air. This element symbolises knowledge that is spirited and expansive. It represents openness and freshness. Air also represents breath or prana that keeps the cells in our body alive.

Our efforts this year will be to bring expansiveness and freshness into the Anahat community by

  • Inviting our practitioner community to share their insights from their rich and varied experiences (Practitioner Spotlight)
  • Hosting Masterclasses to deepen the expertise of practitioners
  • Inviting experts to share fresh perspectives from diverse knowledge traditions to unfold the nature of being fully and wholly human. ('Re-Think' Webinar Series)

We look forward to your continued partnership in creating rich learning spaces when we meet at the various online and offline events during this year.

With warmest wishes for the year ahead,

Janaki & Mahesh

Founders, Anahat

THE 'RE-THINK' WEBINAR SERIES

Anahat’s  ‘Re-Think’ Webinar Series are both perspective builders and perspective shifters. The ‘Re-Think’ webinars will invite speakers to talk on subjects that seem obvious but yet not quite so obvious, about things that we know and yet don’t quite know enough about. They are for the curious, for the seekers, for those willing to let themselves be challenged by a different perspective. They are meant to be conversations of the kind Theodore Zeldin wrote about, “… one which you start with a willingness to emerge a slightly different person.”

Upcoming 'Re-Think' Webinar:
Consciousness-centred
Knowledge Systems and their impact on how we live and what we do

Guest Speaker:

Date & Time:
26 February 2025
6:30pm - 8:00pm IST

Consciousness-centred Knowledge Systems and their impact on how we live and what we do“How do we know?”, “Is there only one way to know or are there many?”, “How do different ways of knowing impact our lives and our work?”, “How does this impact the process of teaching and learning? Education itself?” We have invited author, researcher and educationist Matthijs Cornelissen to offer us a different perspective on the subject of ‘knowing’, inspired by the work of Sri Aurobindo.

MASTERCLASSES FOR CERTIFIED PRACTITIONERS

Advanced Team Building with the MBTI® Instrument

27 Feb 2025, 6:30pm - 8:00 PM IST

The Advanced Team Building Masterclass draws upon decades of research and the experiences of practitioners who have successfully used the MBTI® instrument in their training workshops, consulting and coaching. High performing teams have a common ingredient – effective interactions between team members. The MBTI® instrument equips practitioners working with teams with practical and long-lasting insights for enhancing team performance.

Cultivating Conscious Leadership using Type Dynamics

27 March 2025, 6:30pm - 8:00pm IST

Knowledge of type dynamics can provide a way for leaders to explain their leadership style to their teams and stakeholders, review their approach to situations and consciously flex their styles where needed. This session will be focused on application of type dynamics and type development. Coaches and consultants working with leaders will be able help their clients understand the driving force behind their leadership style and help them become aware of their strengths and biases.

Coaching leaders with the MBTI® Step II instrument
 24 April 2025,  6:30pm - 8:00pm IST
Leaders need to use a wide variety of perspectives and behaviours in order to be effective in their roles. While their leadership style is framed by their type preferences, they need a way to access all 8 preferences as needed. The MBTI® Step II instrument offers a deeper dive into the facets underlying each of the 8 preferences. By accessing the specific behaviours associated with these facets, leaders can adapt their style to work more effectively with team members who have different styles than their own.

Hello, I'm Rohit :

I am a teacher and I work with teenagers in New Delhi and other cities in North India. For the last 30 years or so, I have been conducting anti-bullying workshops for high school students and helping them to learn the value of empathy and kindness.

Driving Force :

The biggest inspiration for my work is to see a struggling soul find hope, purpose and direction again. It makes it worth all the challenges involved.

RESOURCES & TOOLKITS :

MBTI® Resource : The Hidden Elements of Team Dynamics

There are seven elements to high-performance in teams. However, they’re not all visible behaviors. Many teams only focus on the visible behaviours, but if the invisible elements are ignored, the observable, surface behaviors will always be performed sub-optimally.

FIRO-B® Resource : 5 Tips to Immediately Improve Team Dynamics

Consider using these tips to find new ways to improve team performance with the FIRO-B instrument.  Based on people’s interpersonal needs for inclusion, control and affection, the FIRO-B tool shows the dynamics between people in teams. It also shows that what people say and what they want from others can be very different. The FIRO-B tool gives you a framework for understanding interactions better.
