Consciousness-centred Knowledge Systems and their impact on how we live and what we do –
“How do we know?”
“Is there only one way to know or are there many?”
“How do different ways of knowing impact our lives and our work?”
“How does this impact the process of teaching and learning? Education itself?”
We have invited author, researcher and educationist Matthijs Cornelissen to offer us a different perspective on the subject of ‘knowing’ , inspired by the work of Sri Aurobindo.
Matthijs Cornelissen was born in The Netherlands and studied Medicine and Psychology in Amsterdam. He is deeply interested in the work of Sri Aurobindo, and at 27, he moved to India where he has lived ever since. In the Delhi Branch of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram he helped setting up the Institute for Integral Education, Mirambika, and at present he teaches the psychological aspects of Sri Aurobindo’s work at SAICE in Pondicherry. He assisted with the publication of Sri Aurobindo’s Complete Works and wrote articles and book chapters on Sri Aurobindo’s contributions to Consciousness Studies and Psychology. He also organised conferences, edited books and gave workshops and lectures on the same subject. He founded and maintains the websites of the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Consciousness Studies, the Indian Psychology Institute and Infinity in a Drop.
Anahat’s ‘Re-Think’ Webinar Series are both perspective builders and perspective shifters. The ‘Re-Think’ webinars will invite speakers to talk on subjects that seem obvious but yet not quite so obvious, about things that we know and don’t quite know enough about. They are for the curious, for the seekers, for those willing to let themselves be challenged by a different perspective. They are short! 90 minutes. An hour of talk followed by a half hour of what got triggered by the talk. They are meant to be conversations of the kind Theodore Zeldin wrote about, “… one which you start with a willingness to emerge a slightly different person”
